I got a very good saw blade for christmas that I finally wanted to put to use. As boyscouts, we had simple bucksaws when out on camp so I decided to reproduce one the like.

It’s a very simple design and I used cheap hardware store wood to build it since it’s not much more than a prototype / proof-of-concept. Two sidebars, connected by a removable, losely dowelled middle strut hold the sawblade on the one side and a tightening cord on the other. If it works well, I’ll rebuild it with more proper wood.

Edit: It worked like a charm! So I guess I’ll have to gather some decent wood to make a new and more beautiful one from.
