So we had a 10 minute countryside drive to my sister in law’s house today… 🙂 Gattina is generally very relaxed when she’s in the car, but this time she wasn’t “trapped” in her transport basket but could wander about almost freely. She was so curious and excited by all the fascinating sights from the window!
Bevel Filing Jig
I have realised with a little dismay, that most of my knife making tools (such as for example this one or this one) are back at home in munich and that I’m not overly well equipped with the little things here at the northern germany refuge. So I made the working vise some days ago and now I finished a bevel grinding/filing jig to be mounted on my bench vise. Although they’re simple, non-complex tools, it feels very good to do things by hand again.
Farcydes Top 5 Recipes 2019
Now for another year, here’s my Top 5 Recipes. I’d appreciate if you give them a try, enjoy and let me know how they worked out for you! Let’s start:
Slow Braised Beef Short Ribs with Red Wine Sauce
Slow braised short ribs – a delight to me. Although a very cheap cut they come out delicious when done with a little attention, time and some patience.
There’s no magic to it – on the contrary, you’ll have about half an hour of work and will then be able to laze around for 2 1/2 hours! Here’s my recipe:
Romanesco and Bacon Stew
I had two heads of romanesco and a batch of bacon left over from another meal. So I threw everything together and the outcome was indeed very delicious (yes, I will have to work on my presentation). It’s an unpretentious and simple recipe for leftover usage.
Laundry Flip Folding Board
This is neither new nor in any way special, but I wanted to make my own for simplifying doing my laundry: The T-Shirt-Fold-O-Mat.
Cool Knot
Stumbled upon this cool, easy to release knot on the internet. Does anybody know it’s name?
Short Pasta with Caramelized Onions
I felt like having been run through the wringer yesterday. Dizzy, wobbly, queasy, tired – you name it. And hungry as hell, so I made these. The recipes requires only a few ingredients, almost no work and a minimum of supervision. Oh, and it’s yummy.
