I was cleaning up and decluttering my basement and workshop today. Normally a task that I’m really not very keen on, but it was necessary after around eight years. And see what In found: My old pocket knife! I didn’t have this one in my hands for 10 years (easily) and I’m really glad I re-discovered it. Gave it some drops of oil and a little sharpening and it’s as good as on the first day!
Smol Girl on a Big Journey
So we had a 10 minute countryside drive to my sister in law’s house today… 🙂 Gattina is generally very relaxed when she’s in the car, but this time she wasn’t “trapped” in her transport basket but could wander about almost freely. She was so curious and excited by all the fascinating sights from the window!
Cool Knot
Stumbled upon this cool, easy to release knot on the internet. Does anybody know it’s name?
Palmenhaus, Vienna (Austria)
An image of the “Palmenhaus” (Botanical Garden) in Vienna that I took years ago. It’s a beautiful destination for a trip!

Beef Cut Chart
Here’s a nice overview of beef cuts, displayed on the wall of a nice restaurant (“Beef Kitchen“) where we had dinner last night.
Review: “Leatherman Skeletool KB” Pocket Knife
I got this as a christmas present and I had the opportunity/obligation to test it really thoroughly over the last 3-4 days.
I really recommend this pocket knife to everyone! It is sturdy enough, sharp as hell and small enough to keep it in your pocket without even really recognizing it. It opens easily with a twist of your thumb, so it comes in very handy when having to work with it. Available (of course) on Amazon, and indeed for a reasonable price.Disclaimer: I don’t receive any donations, commissions or payments from amazon!
Recommended Read: The “Otherland”-Tetralogy by Tad Williams
It’s a little hard to desribe the synopsis of this tetralogy to someone who hasn’t read it yet 🙂 and frankly, I won’t even try. Instead, I do recommend to read it yourself – although it’s really a LOT of text, it’s really worth it!
What I can safely say is that the “Matrix”-Films surely took more than one idea from it and that the author creates a closed in itself world/surrounding/basic idea, described colorfully, with a deep love to detail and researched precisely.
Available (of course) on Amazon in the english original and the translated german version. If you do so, remember to purchase the whole tetralogy, it’s worth every penny.

The Art of Manliness: The Prisoner Workout
For everyone like me who is too lazy or too busy to hit the gym regularly, here’s an interesting article on how to exercise at home. It’s a bodyweight-workout, no fuss and effective and it doesn’t require any equipment (thus “The Prisoner Workout”). I’m doing this at the moment and I hope i will keep it up.
