I made me some Burgers yesterday for dinner – it’s been a long time since – and I really craved for them. I know, making Hamburgers is a quasi-religious thing, but exactly that’s why everybody makes them the way they personally like best – mine are rather simple.

Between two lovingly toasted (store-bought) burger buns I pile up some lettuce, onions, burger-sauce* and, if I have some, a little cheese. Plus a delicious, savoury medium-grilled beef burger patty, seasoned with just salt and pepper. Also, I like them in a size that allows you to eat them in a humane way, without inevitably making too much of a mess. So this is my stack:

Bottom burger bun
Piece of lettuce
Burger sauce* (on the lettuce, thus the buns don’t get soggy so fast)
Sliced onion

THE PATTY

(Cheese)
Some more sauce
Lettuce
and the top bun

* My burger sauce is easy: 2 tbsp. mayonnaise, 1/2 tbsp. sriracha, some drops of soy sauce, a drop of honey and a little salt and pepper. Stir and you’re done.
