Latest cooking Experiment, yesterday evening for dinner: “Elsässer Flammkuchen” (some kind of french pizza, with a very thin bottom topped with sour cream, onions and bacon). Very yummy, luckily everybody liked it.
Yield: 1 Flammkuchen
Ingredients:
200 g Plain flour
1 TL Salt
1 EL Oil
110 ml Water
200 g Sour cream
Salt & Pepper
Pinch of Nutmeg
2 medium onions, sliced
100 g Bacon, cubed or sliced (bacon is original, but you can use whatever other savory topping you like)
2 tbsp. chopped chives
Procedure:
Knead a dough from flour, water, oil and salt, until elastic. Let sit for at least an hour.
Preheat your oven to about 230 °C top/bottom heat. Dice the bacon and cut the onions into equal, thin slices. Mix the sour cream with salt, pepper and a little nutmeg to taste.
Roll out the dough very thin and distribute the sour cream evenly. Then evenly add the onions and the bacon.
Bake for about 15-20 minutes. Optionally garnish with a little chopped chives and serve hot and crunchy.
