I  gave one of the Bacon sides from recently to a close friend of mine and he made this from some of it! Looks yummy, eh? 😀

He took the recipe from here (english translation below), but he recommends to leave out the butter for more crispiness. I’m glad he liked it!

Ingredients (serves 2):

500 g Brussels sprouts
50 g Bacon, cut into strips
150 g chestnuts, (vacuum packed)
2 tsp. Butter
1 pinch Sugar
Salt and Pepper to taste

Instructions:

Clean the brussels sprouts, removing the outer leaves and cutting the larger ones in half. Cook them in boiling, salted water for 8-10 mins. until tender, then drain well and set aside.

Cut the bacon into thin strips, and halve the lager chestnuts. In a pan without additional fat, fry the bacon until crisp. Add the butter and a pinch of sugar as well as the chestnuts. Cook along with the bacon for about 2 minutes.

Add in the cooked brussels sprouts, toss, and season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve.
