Lately, we removed a part of the wall separating the kitchen from the living room, creating a counter. Thus a normal living room door would always have stood in the way, so we decided to put in a sliding door instead. It’s “Barn-Door” style and, well, it is really barn-ish looking:

I built it from simple tongue and grove boards that the pre-owner of our house left behind, using a store-bought mounting system for the hardware.

It is not completely done yet, since it still misses a final layer of paint and some adjustments, but most of the work is done. The Google-translated chinese hardware manual with imperial measurements was not the most pleasant instruction for me to work with, and I got one measurement plain wrong. No problem – back to the shop and re-work a little.

Anyway, I think it’s nice.
