I put the Bethesda Cookbooks that I got recently to use and, after making Skooma from the Elder Scrolls Cookbook, yesterday I made “Blamco Mac & Cheese” (Fallout 4 Item ID: 0002fbe4) from the Fallout Vault Dweller’s Cookbook. Yummy!

Admittedly, basically this is an ordinary Mac’n Cheese, but souped up Fallout-colored. I like that! It’s easy to make, yummy and convenient.

Again, this is the only recipe I will post from the book since it’s all copyrighted (but I’m a fierce and fearless Wasteland Raider and Mac’n Cheese is not such an uncommon recipe). See it as an appetizer if you’re pondering on buying the book.

Ingredients for 4-5:

500 g maccaroni, cooked
2 medium carrots, chopped
1 l milk
120 g sour cream
2 tsp. worcestershire sauce
30 g all purpose flour
2 tsp. garlic powder
2 tsp. mustard powder
¼ tsp.cayenne pepper
5 tbsp. butter
230 g cheddar cheese, grated
120 g fontina cheese, grated
Salt & Pepper

Method:

On your stove (Fallout 4 Item ID: 00059adb) in a medium sized pot (Fallout 4 Item ID: 00059aba) bring water to a boil. Add the carrots (Fallout 4 Item ID: 000f742e), cover, reduce the heat to medium and let cook for 5 minutes or until the carrots become tender.

Drain the carrots and put them in a blender. Add the milk, sour cream and worcestershire sauce and purée until smooth. (Well, you can easily do this in a small bowl and with a fork as well…).

Combine the flour, mustard powder, garlic powder and cayenne pepper in a small bowl and mix. In a large pot (Fallout 4 Item ID: 00059aba) over medium high heat melt the butter. Once melted, add the flour mixture, stirring constantly, making a roux. Then slowly pour the carrot-milk-mixture in, stirring, until everything has blended into a smooth sauce.

Mix in the cheeses in small portions and season with salt and pepper. Add the cooked maccaroni in and mix until everything is covered nicely with the sauce.

Serve, preferrably on a “Dinner Plate” (Fallout 4 Item ID: 00060e90).

Personal Note: I myself, would omit the carrots and sour cream and I would broil the dish in the oven for 10 minutes after mixing together, covered with some breadcrumbs . But the recipe above is the original.
