Muaaaahhhh… delicious! I could literally bathe in that stuff 😀 . As with most slow cooker dishes, this is a very low stress and very high reward endeavour. The image looks shit but the meal was great. Here’s how:

Ingredients (for 2):

2 large beef shanks
2 cups beef broth
4 garlic cloves, sliced
1 onion, sliced
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. onion powder
2 tbsp. dried herbs (rosemary, thyme, parsley, oregano… whatever)
liberal amount of salt and pepper (to taste)

Directions:

Optional Step (though highliest recommended): Season the beef shanks with salt and pepper on both sides and brown them thoroughly on all sides in an oiled pan over high heat. Take out and set aside.

Cut up the onion and garlic and make a mixture of the herbs and spices in small bowl.

Place the shanks in your slow cooker and sprinkle onions/garlic and spices all over. Then pour over the broth and mix a little to distribute everything evenly. Close the lid and cook on high for 5 hrs. or on low for 8 hrs.

Best served with mashed potatoes and some side veggies.
