Anything “Teriyaki” apparently means nothing more than “glossily fried”. Thus: You don’t need any expensive store-bought sauces, special ingredients or anything! The recipe (which seems to be original, since I even asked a born and raised asian person – just to make sure), is really easy, very delicious and done in almost no-time. Try it! As far as i know it’s the original.
Steak Haché
I was about 17 years old when I was part of a school student exchange with france. With our hardly manageable and ill-fitted school-french me and my fellow classmates found ourselves being caught in a school (un “collège”) downtown in the city of Marseille (de – en – fr) – and confronted with a very special local dialect 🙂
Chickens and their Eggs
Pretty, protective, full-throated and enraged Henriette, when we tried to collect her own freshly laid egg 🙂 (She got over it and she’s very well used to us rummaging around in the den).
Branding Iron
I’ve got my own branding iron! My logo, heatable and carved in brass!
It’s these guys who are making them and they’re really very supportive and customer-oriented! I’ve got the simple version that has to be heated externally (e.g. with a gas torch), but they also sell electrically self-heated irons as well.
“Shotgun Fruiting Chamber”
In order to assist my mushroom bags a little in growing I made this so-called “Shotgun Fruiting Chamber” that I stumbled upon here. It’s an easy concept, but afaics it makes perfect sense so I’m going to try it.
Wooden Viking Chair
In winter I planned to make a viking style chair for the northern germany garden. Now, by chance, we’ve got a very pretty wooden bench and I don’t need another chair anymore. Which doesn’t keep me from building it nonetheless and give it away as a present to a friend of mine who is much into viking lore anyway.
Mushroom Cultivation Bags
German TV can be a cornucopia of documentaries. Of course: Hitler. Up and down. I can’t stand that guy anymore, just because of his omnipresence. This is presumably the most reliable way to prevent something like this from ever happening again – grinding people’s last nerves with it 🙂
But also interesting stuff! Like for example on professional mushroom growing in an old airforce aircraft shelter. Made me try some cultivation bags on my own again, as I found a left over box of store-bought mycelium in the shed. I didn’t have a clue if it was still any good, but it was worth the try and as usual, I had a little fun.
