I’ve got a new knife for my pocket to carry everyday. Since the old one got a little wiggly over a two-digit number of years of (mis-)use and I generally wanted a new one, here it is:
Recommended Read: William Gibson’s “Neuromancer” and “Idoru” Trilogies

I’ve read them again in the last days and I still can’t help but recommend them to all of you. They are pathbreaking novels with ideas that influenced and orientated a whole genre of Sci-Fi – well written and absolutely captivating.
To whomever likes Science-Fiction, respectively Cyberpunk, these are set Books.
To me, William Gibson (de|en) is one the most influential Sci-Fi Authors of our time.
Squirrel Feeder Build
My neighbour, who is a biologist told me that squirrels have had a hard time the last winters here in urban southern germany and that she doesn’t think the situation will improve much this year. Seems the little critters are so excited about the long and hot summer that they simply forget to collect their nuts as supply for the winter. So I made a “squirrel-nut-depot-all-you-can-eat-bar”.
Nice to Know: Trailer Weight Distribution
I don’t know where this video is from, but it’s very interesting, especially for campers.
Homemade “Käsespätzle”
… or “Kasspatzn” in southern german slang. I posted an article on them before, boasting around that I would make them myself. Today was the day and we finally made some. These are gorgeous, delicious little bastards and they’re surprisingly easy to make! An easy, yummy and filling crowd-pleaser.
TL;DR: I’ll never buy the pre-made ones from the supermarket again!
My “Grab’n Flee” Kit
This is what I always have packed in a convenient pouch in case “I just want to get out of this shit”. Just grab this, money, a jacket and a toothbrush and get the hell out of here.
Revised: RV Tank Cleaning: How-To and Product Review
Since I fucked up the last post on RV Tank Cleaning, I’ll try to correct that here and now. After 1 1/2 years of not using the RV I had to clean and disinfect the water tanks thoroughly and, while thinking I bought the product I used before, I actually got a different one. This was a little bit more complicated than the one used before, so I I’ll describe here how it worked:
Homemade “Bresaola”
This is the homemade “Bresaola” that I made several weeks ago. You can find the recipe here. While this is certainly not comparable to the north italian original, it is still very delicious and – hey! – it’s self-made!
