I made me some Burgers yesterday for dinner – it’s been a long time since – and I really craved for them. I know, making Hamburgers is a quasi-religious thing, but exactly that’s why everybody makes them the way they personally like best – mine are rather simple.
Outdoor-/Fishing Knife Progress
Due to some… ahhh… “peak” in workload over the last few days, I didn’t have the time to dedicatedly work on the new knife very much. But after sanding the handle with 200 up to 600 grit sandpaper, I was finally able to apply the first coat of boiled linseed oil to it – more layers will follow. Next thing is cleaning and at least roughly polishing the blade and then – finally – sharpening. I find it looks great 🙂

Fierce and Deadly Churrasco Swords
I found an interesting image of some churrasco spits on the internet and thought to myself: Yeah! Why not make them look like a sword? It’d be wide enough to hold any piece of meat firmly and prevent it from rotating on the spit, plus I can poke into the ground if necessary, and – plus plus – it would simply look cool.
Chicken with Mushrooms in Hoisin Sauce
Another un-fancy, yet yummy recipe you can easily memorize. It requires only a few ingredients, it’s no fuzz to make and it’s hearty and filling. Best served over rice.
Chicken with Hoisin Glaze
I made this these days for dinner. It’s easy and fast enough for a workday evening and it’s yummy as hell. And I will really have to work on my presentation 🙂 Here’s what you want to do:
New Outdoor-/Fishing Knife in the Making
I finally found time to continue working on my long-planned new outdoor knife. I wanted to create a sturdy, yet slender multi purpose knife to carry with me when I go fishing or into the outdoors. Here are some images:
Basic Udon Soup
I like asian food, especially noodles and whenever I stumble upon a recipe that catches my eye, I try to reproduce it. So here is today’s shot at “Basic Udon Soup” that I discovered on this guy’s very well made Youtube channel that I’ve been following for years now. This is not an overly savoury or particularly filling soup, rather some light meal. Watch the video or read on here how to make it:
